On Christmas day in Montreal, Maia and her daughter Alex receive a box full of notebooks, tapes and photos she had sent to her best friend from Beirut back in the 80s. Between fantasy and reality, Alex secretly discovers her mother’s tumultuous, passionate and mysterious past.
